This was a collaboration with my wife Robyn Swadling who is an amazing artist. Do check out her artwork on facebook at Robyn Swadling Fine art. As we were both studying at the time (2011), we found ourselves to be poor UNI students, and we needed a way to make a little money. So as creative people do, we came up with an idea and off we went to our local markets on the central coast selling jewelry and small commercial artworks. Our stall was called little bird jewelry and I think the thing that surprised us both about the whole experience was the interaction with many interesting people who bought our creations. This was a great experience from beginning to end. To sell art commercially we had to come up with a system which was quick and effiecent to make it profitable as the art works were reasonably priced. We could produce a large quantity of artworks in a small amount of time. We would then reproduce a few of what sold the best for every market.

Step 1.

I would create the ink drawings and keep in book to transfer to artboard.

Step 2.

My wife would then block in the main colours and shades with paint

Step 3.

I would then go over the works again with a ink pen and place in the detail
