The Commemoration In 2014 Australia will commemorate the Anzac Centenary, marking 100 years since our nation’s involvement in the First World War. During the Anzac Centenary we will remember and commemorate more than a century of service by Australian servicemen and women. How this piece got its name In September this year I conducted the premiere performance of this work with students from the NEVR Spring Music Camp in Regional Victoria. A special mention needs to be given to the young lady from Cobram Secondary College who has given this composition it’s title. When I look at the score and hear it being played, I could think of no other name which captures what I was trying to write. Thank you Paige Gullifer for your contribution.
